Kate Garraway rushed to hospital

GMTV host Kate Garraway was rushed to hospital yesterday after suffering from appendicitis, according to a report.

The Sun claims that the presenter was admitted after experiencing agonising pains.

It is thought that Garraway is recovering well after undergoing emergency surgery yesterday afternoon, but will be forced to miss a trip to Bristol to cover the second Leaders' Debate.

Sources say that newsreader Helen Fospero has been asked to front GMTV's coverage of the election event in Garraway's place.

Earlier today, it was reported that Fospero is likely to become a main GMTV anchor when Adrian Chiles joins the breakfast show later this year.
