She's facing a 25 per cent paycut, but nothing could wipe the smile off Kate Garraway's face this morning.
The 42-year-old is believed to be among the likely victims of GMTV cutbacks, but she has more pressing matters on her mind at the moment, such as the impending arrival of her second child.
However, she had been feeling terribly guilty about being pregnant, knowing a friend and colleague was desperate to have a baby of her own.
But today she revealed that she was 'ecstatic' at the news GMTV weather girl Clare Nasir is expecting after IVF treatment - and a big smile proved her point.
She said: 'It is such a heartbreaking process for any couple and I’m over the moon that it’s worked for them,' said Kate. 'Clare is one of the most lovely and maternal people you could ever hope to meet and was born to be a mum.'
She said that she found it hard telling best friend Clare about her own pregnancy.
'I found it quite difficult when I fell pregnant this last time because it’s really hard telling someone who has been trying for so long that you are expecting a baby.
'She really isn’t the kind of person who would hold it against you, but I did feel very guilty and am so glad we can be pregnant together now.'
In her column for New! magazine Kate also talks about her fellow celebrity mother, Katie Price - saying she needs to be told to 'calm down'.
'She is acting like someone who has lost all perspective,' she wrote.
'If I was Jordan’s mum, I would be on the phone begging her to calm down. She tries to look like she’s a lot happier without Pete, but I can see the sadness in her eyes
and I don’t think anyone’s fooled.'
Ms Garraway was spotted out and about in a flattering red wrap dress, which she fastened with a safety pin at the top to prevent any accidental exposure of her curves.
