Mollywoods biggest commercial director Joshie's latest film Christian brothers, which has made news due to the high budget and star cast, was postponed to July. The budget was expected to go beyond Rs 3.5 crore which was the limit set by the producers' association. Then actor Thilakan controversy came up. The actor blamed a superstar for his ouster from this film, who was supposed to do a role in Christian Brothers.

The movie features Mohanlal, Sarath Kumar, Suresh Gopi and Dileep. The film also has Lal's Madambi pair Kavya Madhavan and milky white Lakshmi Rai. Kaniha acts for the first time with Mohanlal and Lal's favorite heroine Lakshmi Gopalaswamy is also adding glitz.

The release of this thriller has been pushed to July 9, as a song has to be picturised with Mohanlal and Lakshmi Rai in Scotland. Now the climate is not favorable to shoot their and reports are that the best time to picturise the song is May, when summer begins here.

In Christian Brothers, Mohanlal is a high profile police informer, a key figure in Mumbai, a Godfather type of role. But his family thinks he is a goon. Mohanlal and Dileep play brothers Christie and Joji. Dileep had joined seminary to become a priest but opts out after he falls in love with a girl. Kaniha and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy play their sisters. Kavya Madhavan will pair with Mohanlal. The story goes through a dozen of interesting twists and turns, according to scriptwriters Udayakrishnan and Siby K Thomas. Joshiy's last film with Siby-Udayan was blockbuster Twenty 20.

Anil Nair is the cinematographer and Deepak Dev the music director. The film is produced jointly by Varnachitra Subair and AVA Productions Anoop (Medimix). Christian Brothers was to release along with Mammootty, Prithviraj starrer Pokkiri Raja on April 30

Mohanlal's Christian Brothers confirmed for March 18th

It's now only about a month time left for the arrival of the Christy Varghese and his popular Christian family.

Mohanlal's new multi starer Christian Brothers is now all set to reach the theaters by March 18th. This new film directed by veteran director Joshiy also features Suresh Gopi, Dileep, Sarath Kumar, Kavya Madhavan, Lakshmi Rai, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Jagathy Sreekumar, Sai Kumar etc in it. This film is being produced by Subair and Anoop under the banners Varnachitra and AVA productions respectively.

According to some close sources, the character of Christy Varghese played by Mohanlal in this Christian Brothers is having a lot more of surprises for the first day viewers. Script writers of this film, Sibi K Thomas - Udayakrishna have included some punch lines for this film that may get the viewers, especially the Mohanlal fans thrilled. Another highlight of this film remains to be the fight sequence between the legendary actors Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi.

This new film has 3 superb songs in it, composed by Deepak Dev. One song will be featured as a duet between Dileep and Kavya Madhavan and the second will also be a romantic song featuring Mohanlal and Lakshmi Rai in it while the third and the last song will feature almost all the stars in this film since it is a song featuring a wedding reception.

This multi starer film, Christian Brothers will release in a grand fashion, making it into about 400 theaters in it's initial day itself. Also this film will mark the first ever simultaneous release of a Malayalam film in the theaters outside India. As per the report, shooting for this much awaited film, Christian Brothers has now been wrapped up and the post production works are progressing in a brisk pace.

Everyone, who loves Malayalam cinema and Mohanlal will be eagerly waiting for the release of this new Malayalam film, Christian Brothers since it not only features a lot of popular stars from Malayalam film industry in it but also for the reason that it is one of the much awaited film in 2011 from our own Universal star Mohanlal.

Mohanlal's new film Christian Brothers again gets shifted

Our God's own Superstar Mohanlal's much awaited multi-starrer film Christian Brothers have been in the making  for the past one year and have shifted it's releasing dates for more than a single time. The latest to hear about this new Malayalam film is that the releasing date has now been once again shifted.

This new Malayalam movie, Christian Brothers was scheduled to reach the theatres by the 26th of this January but now according to the producer of this film, Varnachitra Subair the film will only get into the theaters by the March 10th. The reason behind the shifting of it's releasing date is not yet revealed by the producer.

As per the source, this new Malayalam multi-starrer movie, Christian Brothers featuring Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Dileep, Sarath Kumar, Kavya Madhavan, Kaniha, Lakshmi Rai, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy etc in the lead will make the greatest ever wide release for a Malayalam film, ie around 300 theatres all across India.

But the trade analysts are predicting that the releasing date of this new film may get again shifted since March 10 is not at all a suitable date for the releasing of such a big film. The film will get surely affected by the ongoing exam seasons all across the state and also there is the Cricket World Cup at that time.

Let's hope for the best, and wish that the film will get released at the proper time and may went on to become a Blockbuster in the history of Malayalam film industry.
